A native of Hannah, SC, deep-voiced Josh Turner collapse on the country fit in 2003 with the powerful "Long Black Train," a song Turner had scripted later listening to a Hank Williams box set. Sounding like a gospel-blues prohibited of the forties, "Long Black Train" wrestles with the grand themes of temptation, salvation, death, and redemption, and the birdcall chop-chop brought Turner national media attention. His first record album, Long Black Train, produced by Frank Rogers, was released by MCA in 2003. Prior to the album outlet, Turner had issued two 7" vinyl group singles, "She'll Go on You" and "Long Black Train," both backed with the like B-side, "Backwoods Boy." A second record album on MCA, Your Man, was released in 2006 and reached number 2 on the Top two hundred. The impressive Everything Is Fine appeared in 2007, again from MCA Nashville.
